September Bulletin - September 18, 2003
Dear Southwest Community Neighbor,Mark your calender for November 4, 2003. This is the day City of Flint voters will elect a new mayor. Because we believe the mayor should know about the Southwest Crime Watch and our efforts to deter crime in our neighborhood, we have asked each of the two mayoral candidates to speak to our group about his vision for Flint, goals for making the vision a reality, and plans for addressing the current needs of the city. This is an opportunity to meet the candidates, ask questions, and become an informed voter. Don Williamson, mayoral candidate, has agreed to address the Southwest Crime Watch at our September 25th meeting. Plan to attend.
Ooops! July 2002 crime statistics for the Southwest Crime Watch area show an increase from June 2003. This means we need more help on the patrols and greater vigilence from everyone

We still need your help. This Bulletin is read and appreciated by many of our neighbors, but unfortunately not everyone is receiving a copy. This is because we need more people to serve as deliverers. It really is an easy task, requiring not much more than thirty minutes of your time once a month. Not only will you be doing a service, but there are other benefits such as the healthy exercise of walking and the opportunity to say "Hi" to some of your neighbors. We need deliverers for the following streets:
Ingleside Markham
Alvord Campbell
Fenton Rd Hargott
Tuxedo Lynbrook
Lincoln Windsor Lane
Greenbriar
Can you help? Do you want more information? Give Debra Ramsey, our Bulletin delivery coordinator, a call at (810) 249-3863. She would be very happy to hear from you!
Did you see this ad in the "Volunteer Here" section of The Flint Journal? This is the station that serves our neighborhood. Presently it is located on Fenton Road, just north of Cody School, but will soon be moving to a new location. Volunteers are needed to keep the station open.
SOUTHSIDE MINI STATION: Answer phones, take neighborhood complaints, fill out bicycle registrations, provide referral information and directions to departments within the city of Flint. Four hours, one day a week. Vera Broniak, (810) 766-7345, Wednesdays, 9a.m.-5p.m.
