The NeoTF soldier class has the distinction of being able to employ laser-activated tripmines, but in the middle of
digital combat, who wants to go through the tedious pratice of dropping the console and typing the word "tripmine" every time one wishes to attach one of these gems to a wall, floor section or even ceiling?
Enabled, the console inhibits half of your available sight, so what's needed, is to bind or assign a specific action
or feature to a key.
For example, lets assume that as a soldier class, I want to bind the attachment of tripmines to the letter "x"....so that each time I want to attach a tripmine to a wall all I would have to do is get into position and strike the "x" key to perform this task.
The procedure is as follows:
Drop your console by striking the tilde(~) key.
Type these highlighted words into the console: bind x tripmine make sure that there is a space between
bind and x and between x and the desired action or feature....that's basically all there is to it.
Engineer class are able to build multi guns (mg) in combat, binding the letter "v" to such actions are as follows:
Drop your console by striking the tilde(~) key.
Type these highlighted words into the console: bind v _special2 make sure that there is a space between
bind and v and between v and _special2.
There are a whole host of available commands that can be bound or assigned to a key stroke, but they all follow the same procedure: bind key action.
More information about special class commands is available here.
I hope this little tutorial is helpful.
